Mead Voters Keep Village Alcohol Free
APRIL 9, 1942 Mead again voted the
dry ticket Tuesday when the citizens turned out to cast their
votes on the wet and dry issue. Mead has been dry for "forty
years" and the vote Tuesday signified their intention of
remaining that way. The vote was about three to one against
either liquor or beer. Eland Johnson, long time resident of
Mead stated the last time this issue was brought up in Mead it
was defeated by a much closer margin. In fact one vote if his
memory serves him right.
