Zanuck
Darryl Zanuck was a key player in the Golden Days of
Hollywood. Born in Wahoo, Nebraska, he entered the movie
business as a child extra in 1908. He even spent time in
the Nebraska National Guard during World War I.
Zanuck joined Warner Brothers in 1923 and by 1928 he became a
studio manager. By 1933, he left Warner Brothers to join
20th Century Pictures which later merged with Fox to become 20th
Century Fox. By the 1950's Zanuck when television was
beginning to compete with films, he adapted the studio to
Cinemascope.
Darryl Zanuck made a huge contribution to the film industry
and the Saunders County Museum is proud to be able to showcase
some of his memorabilia.
